Taqlid (ikut ikutan) iyalah meyakini kandungan ucapan orang lain perbuatannya dan ketetapan tanpa menggunakan dalil, mengecualikan dengan pengertian taklid ini adalah mereka para murid yang dibimbing atau di tunjukan oleh para tokoh pada dalil-dalil, maka mereka disebut orang yang mengetahui kematapan yang sesuai dengan kenyataan atau kebenaran yang berlandasan dari sebuah dalil atau bukti baik ijmali atau tafsili, bukan orang-orang yang taklid bagi kita orang awam untuk mengetahui Allah tidak harus dengan dalil tafsili cukup dengan dalil ijmali.
Sebab, wajib yang dimaksud adalah wajib secara syar’i dan tidak ada kemurahan untuk menggagalkannya karena ada kalimat allah yang mengatakan; maka ketahuilah bahwasannya tiada tuhan selain Allah, maka wajib bagi semua orang mukallaf baik bagi laki-laki ataupun perempuan untuk mengetahui dalil-dalil akidah secara global (ijmali).
Sedangkan secara perinci hukumnya fardhu kifayah, jika dipandang dari pengertian di atas apakah kita sebagai orang awam diperbolehkan taklid memandang orang awam itu tidak berlandasan dengan sebuah dalil atau bukti baik secara global ataupun secara perinci.
Dalam kitab husunun hamidiyah dijelaskan bahwa menurut pendapat yang shohih orang-orang yang bertaklid pada orang lain dalam masalah akidah dengan keyakinan yang mantap tidak ada keraguan sama sekali maka imannya sah, maka jelaslah dari referensi bahwasannya kita sebagai orang awam boleh bertaklid dengan ketentuan yanga telah dijelaskan di atas.
